Week 6 : PHP continue...

Today we start the class with refresh and recall back last week lesson..

1. Testing server => xampp -> on/set security
2. Setting Database
3. create site
4.  create connection
5. create PHP

Dr Zaida start the class with lower gear to recall above steps. But suddenly after 5.30 pm she jump into speed gear as usual :). Luckly i've done the homework insert security last week, Alhamdulillah no problems to follow her speed. We learn how to create login page with security.

At the end of our lesson we have learn how to create admin page using admin level. Each level admin will have different interface. At the top speed lesson, I got the problem cannot read database hmmm pity me.. I've delete the table and redo the table at home. It's the outcome :

If admin login not successful, system need user to register as user not as an admin.

Week 5 Homework : Inserting Security into the System

This group activity, we can use either ASP or PHP. My group mate me, Masni and Fadlee. We try to use both ASP and PHP to develope our skill in authoring system. Dengan semangat yang berkobar-kobar after class i do it immediately (am i eddicted to web developing?? huhuhu seem like that..). I have try to do in ASP first.. Alhamdulillah it's work. Here is some interfaces in the system :

If the student already register, they can login and access the system. After click logout, user will go to login interface.

If user direct type url address, restricted will appear for 2 second and then log in page will appear.

I Can sleep tigh tonight after finished my task.. zzzzzzzz

Week 5 : Enjoy learning n working with PHP!

Alhamdulillah this week much better than last week in ASP class. I can follow all Dr Zaida's high speed session in PHP and MySQL. Before work in PHP we need to install XAMPP first then set up Apache. Don't forget to TURN OFF IIS first before TURN ON the Apache. In class activity we had to create input and output site like last week in ASP but this week in PHP. It's enhance with login site with username and password. It's still using previous knowledge to connecting to database in Dreamweaver CS3. Diffrentiate between ASP and PHP is, in ASP connecting to database is using connection string and DSN while in PHP is using MySQL connection and need to enter MySQL's username and password. The rest is similar with using ASP like insert record and recordset.

Last but not least, how to transfer PHP project to other PC :

1. Copy folder site e.g mine is projek2 and database folder e.g mine is info.
2. Paste site folder name: projek2 in c:/xampp/htdocs/ then database: info in c:/xampp/mysql/data/.
3.  After that open Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. Create New Site. Make sure site name is same to with you have done previous. E.g mine is projek2.

Week 4's homework

After some research and many try and error, at last i've solve the previous problem, Alhamdulillah.. But now i've new problem :( The problem is during setup connection. When testing to the data base there is an error :

HTTP error 405 Method Not Allowed

The same problem facing with my colleague, Pn Masni.Hope we'll solve this problem ASAP. Got to go rest first n see u then..

Hasil bertapa sejam di lab hari ni, alhamdulillah most complete asp homework. Cuma tinggal buat repeatation view the records.. will be edit again.

After keep trying to settle all the problems database connection and after i met with lab technicians, Mr Ali still cannot settle it in Windows 7. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate cannot support the applications, but only Windows 7 Professional can support them. If i want to do in my laptop, i must be either to convert to Windows XP Pro Win 7 Pro.

Alhamdulillah... Finally done the 'simple homework' from Dr Zaida. Look 'simple', but for those not familiar with web development it's sooooooo hard :D (refer to myself also). During completing this homewrok i've formatted my laptop to Win XP Pro. Its 2 times formatted within 24 hours (after a decad not doing his job). TQ my fren, Fadlee for remind n refresh me back how to do it!  Berbaloi kan Pn Masni g disscussion this homework with my kids along together hehehe.
